About Me

I'm Kathy, and I've always been drawn to beautiful things; interesting objects, unusual shapes, wonderful colors, and the kind of discoveries that make you look twice.
I come by it honestly. My grandmother Helen wore clip-on crystal earrings and fuchsia lipstick, and “dressed” every day because that's simply who she was. We spent many afternoons at flea markets, the Goodwill and the counter of the local Rexall Drugstore. My mother had a remarkable eye for beautiful spaces, was keen on the juxtaposition of furniture, exquisite placement of objects and love which ultimately is the key ingredient in any home. Between the two of them, I learned that personal style isn't about following rules. It's about knowing what speaks to you.
I've been a designer, a collector and lover of textiles for as long as I can remember, and I've been making things most of my adult life. Clothing and handbags through my design businesses, along with art collecting,  gardening and redesigning homes. After five years caring for my parents, I knew I wanted to make something again, this time with my own hands, in a completely new medium.
I discovered the work of a jewelery designer in Australia. Her pieces were organic, beautifully simple yet bold, and one of a kind. I took her online courses, then went on to study with three more inspiring jewelery designers. The learning continues, and the journey has been magical.
It has also been very humbling. I've learned which stones break under pressure, which tools give exactly the right shine, and that a piece will sometimes decide it wants to be something else entirely different from the original idea.  My guiding rule is “Progress, Not Perfection”. When a piece finally does comes together and the stones come to life, I feel a mix of pride and humility, a word I've started calling “Prumility”.
Every piece is handmade and completely original. I work in solid sterling silver and gold, with hand-set natural and lab-grown gems.
Most of all, I believe the person wearing the jewelery is the main attraction. My goal is to make beautiful pieces that bring joy to your life, and if one makes you smile, all the better.
Thank you for being here. I hope you find something that makes you look twice.
